This shot continues my Arrakis cinematic studies inspired by Dune, featuring a salt harvester framed with a 102mm telephoto lens.
The camera remains static, compressing space and isolating the harvester against the desert backdrop. An ornithopter enters from below frame, rises through the shot, and exits upward, adding layered depth and scale contrast.
Focus Areas
Telephoto composition (102mm lens) for spatial compression
Rotated sun position for altered silhouette and shadow shaping
EmberGen smoke plume integration
Custom heat distortion material applied to the ornithopter
Ultra Dynamic Sky & Ultra Dynamic Weather for environmental lighting
EXR export from Unreal Engine 5 with final assembly in DaVinci Resolve
This shot explores lens choice, scale contrast, and atmospheric layering in a real-time cinematic workflow.
